A Year in Luke/ActsNäide

Paul demonstrates wisdom in how he communicates with all of the different people he is interacting with. The fact that he was both a Pharisee and a Roman citizen puts him in the perfect position to speak with eloquence in many different contexts. He is embodying the words he writes to the church in Corinth, “I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.” (1 Corinthians 9:22)
In Acts 17 we saw how Paul spoke in a way that the Athenians could relate, and he has done the same with various Jewish groups. However, the theme that he returns to in all of these different contexts is the resurrection, which will again play a central role in this chapter.
