Christmas Advent: Jesus, ComeNäide

Key of David, Come
Christmas has a unique way of stirring a deep sense of longing within us. Many experience a yearning for peace, belonging, and hope during this season. These desires echo the promises God made to Israel centuries ago. God promised to establish a lasting legacy for Israel, a covenant providing a safe homeland and constant access to His presence (2 Samuel 7:10–13).
This promise, fulfilled in Jesus, goes far beyond earthly kingdoms and rulers. Born into the line of David, Jesus is the true “Key of David,” the One who opens and closes the door to the eternal kingdom of God. As Revelation 3:7 declares, He holds the keys, and no one can shut what He opens. Jesus, through His life, death, and resurrection, unlocked the way for us to enter God’s presence forever.
Jesus is the fulfilment of the promises to David, and through Him, we find eternal hope. As we celebrate this Advent season, we remember that the “Key of David” has unlocked the chains of sin and death, and He offers us a place in the eternal home He has prepared for us. This Christmas, let us rejoice in our access to God through Jesus Christ, the Key of David, who has opened the door to eternal peace and belonging.
