The Path of PerseveranceNäide

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. James 5:7
The book of James ends with quite the clarion call — “Therefore be patient until the coming of the Lord…establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.” What he then lays out is the importance of linking arms with one another, confessing sin, praying, and reminding those who wander of the truth. James has just gifted the Church with five chapters full of wisdom in living righteously, TOGETHER. May we be so consumed with the knowledge of His coming that, like farmers, we might sow and reap fruit on the earth.
- Ask: Lord, in what ways do You want to “establish my heart” today?
- How am I specifically practicing patience in my life? Is it within a community?

About this Plan

In the final hour, many will fall away, but there will be a remnant that finishes the race of faith well. Now, more than ever before, we need a reawakening in our hearts of the true meaning of enduring through trial, suffering, and pain in light of the return of Jesus. "The Path of Perseverance" is a 26-day journey through the books of Philippians, 1st & 2nd Thessalonians, James, 1st & 2nd Peter, and Jude.
