Warning! Beware of the Spirit of FearNäide

When a person is filled with the spirit of fear, they cannot exercise self-discipline in their life.
The Lord has set us free and He wants us to live in true freedom (Galatians 5:1). This is why He has given us self-discipline—the ability to say no to sin, to turn away from what destroys us, and to refrain from what displeases the Lord.
The spirit of fear says: “You won’t be able to give it up for long.” “You’ll go back to your old ways.” “It’s not worth trying.” “You can’t live without that person.” But are these statements true?
Definitely not! They come from a heart filled with fear.
That’s why God’s Word tells us that we can practice self-discipline when we trust that we can do ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST (Philippians 4:13).
