Grief Turned Into Joy: Reflecting on John 16:16-33Näide

Mission Reflection
Jesus tells the disciples “...Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy…” (John 16:20 NIV) How have these words shaped the reality around pain and grief? How have you used this Scripture to encourage an ailing world?

About this Plan

In John 16:16-33, Jesus takes the disciples through the reality of his departure and the grief they will experience. Jesus compares their confusion and grief to childbirth pains that are soon forgotten because of the joy of receiving a baby. He encourages them that because he has overcome the world, they too will overcome and receive joy from the Father.
