Deeper: Developing Deeper Intimacy With GodNäide

One of the major tipping points in our Christian journey is when we want to know more about God and who He is, not for earthly benefits but rather out of our love and devotion to Him. It is in this state that religion truly becomes a relationship, like when you find a significant other and start spending more time with them; just being in their company alone brings you joy.
You don’t have to be doing anything together, but just knowing they are there brings you comfort. In the same way that a significant other starts to consume your thoughts and becomes a driving factor in your decisions, so does God as you develop a deeper relationship with Him. God drives every decision you make, and there is nothing better for you than spending time in His presence.
As you grow in your relationship with God, you find joy in reading the Bible, attending worship services, and having your own private worship sessions. These spiritual disciplines, once performed out of duty, now become a necessity for you to spend time with your Heavenly Father, Creator, Savior, and Lord.
If you've chosen to engage with this devotional, it's because you're seeking a deeper intimacy with God. The comforting truth is that just as you long for a deeper connection with God, He desires the same with you.
Jesus informed his disciples that they were no longer just servants but friends. James reminds us that as we draw near to God, He draws near to us. As you journey through this devotional, I hope it will provide the momentum or reinforcement you need to continue deepening your relationship with God.
