Connecting With God: A 5 Day DevotionalNäide

“When you pray, say:
Our Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.”
Luke 11:2
The first line of the Lord's prayer is, ‘Our Father.’ I believe this is a very significant and powerful part of the prayer. This part of the prayer informs us of the position we should assume when we pray.
Your position in prayer is not from the stance of an outsider. If you are to address God as Father, it means that He acknowledges you as His child. You are a son/daughter of God.
When you placed your confidence and full trust in Jesus, you were adopted by God. You share the same rights as Jesus to God's resources and full identity. You cannot earn this position. It has been freely given to you by the Father through faith in Jesus.
When you approach God the Father with assurance in that truth that you are His child, it automatically shifts the dynamic of your prayers. There’s less fear and more freedom.
