Jesus Is….My Redeemer - I Am Free

The guard standing behind me gently nudged me forward. My clothes felt a bit uncomfortable; I hadn’t worn them in seven years, and I had lost weight in prison. I stepped forward and walked through the steel bars and door into freedom. I took a long, deep breath to be sure I was really out and free. Then I saw my daughter running in my direction with a big smile on her face and my wife right behind her.

I really was out and FREE from prison. I knelt down on one knee as my daughter wrapped her arms around me, and tears came to my eyes. I had a new start, a fresh chance at life. I hugged and carried Ruth and stood to embrace my wife, too. We stood together in a group hug that seemed to last for eternity. Deep in my heart, I knew I was free and that I was loved.
