In This Together: 10 Devotions on the Book of EphesiansNäide

Generously Good
Saving is all His idea and all His work. All we do is trust Him enough to let Him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! Ephesians 2:8–9 MSG
Being generous with our time and resources isn’t always easy, but it’s always good. Our time here is a journey of learning to love God deeply, serve Him sacrificially, and glorify Him gratefully—for the eternal gift He’s given us so graciously. When a friend, neighbor, family member, or even a stranger is in need, we sometimes hesitate to be a blessing because we have so much going on personally. We’re tempted to decline to help because we’re strained mentally and physically, believing we have nothing left to give or enough time to spend. But if we trust God to direct our steps and sustain our strength, every need before us is a chance to glorify Him through what we do.
We have the privilege of showing this world daily what God is like. If the things we do mirror what He is—love, kindness, and compassion—we magnify His goodness and gain eternal ground. This is how God brings us together right here, right now. . .while turning our hearts to the hope of eternity.
I never want to turn a blind eye or neglect a chance to be generous with my time and resources, Lord. Give me a greater desire to serve You wholeheartedly.
