As we conclude our exploration of God's perspective on money, let us reflect on the truths and principles that guide us towards financial freedom and abundance. In Matthew 6:24, Jesus reminds us of the danger of serving money as our master. When we prioritize wealth and possessions above our relationship with God, we risk losing sight of His kingdom and His will for our lives. Living in a world that constantly bombards us with messages of materialism, consumerism and scarcity, it's necessary to align our hearts with God's priorities and values. As followers of Christ, we're called to be wise stewards of the resources entrusted to us, using them to glorify God and further His kingdom. Throughout the Bible, God provides us with sage wisdom and guidance for managing our finances. Here are five passages to read and reflect on: 1\. Philippians 4:19 (NIV) - "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." 2\. Proverbs 13:11 (NIV) - "Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow." 3\. Ecclesiastes 5:10 (NIV) - "Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless." 4\. 1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NIV) - "Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way, they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life." 5\. Now, let us take a moment to contemplate our own financial practices and attitudes with the following reflection questions: 1\. Whom do I serve when it comes to money? Do I prioritize God's kingdom or my own desires? 2\. How do I view wealth and possessions? Do I find my security and identity in them, or do I trust in God's provision? 3\. Am I content with what I have, or do I constantly strive for more? 4\. How am I stewarding the resources God has given me? Am I using them to bless others and further His kingdom? 5\. What changes do I need to make in my financial habits to align them more closely with God's will? Think about your answers honestly and from a place of zero-judgment. God loves you, in all your states, and simply by acknowledging your troubles you are taking a step forward in the right direction. \--- Let us end today’s devotional as we always do: in prayer. Heavenly Father, Thank you for your guidance and wisdom concerning money and possessions. Help us to serve you wholeheartedly, putting our trust in your provision and prioritizing your kingdom above all else.
