Easter Week Reading Guide : Readings for Holy WeekNäide

Good Friday - Trial, Crucifixion & Burial
On the Friday of Holy Week, Jesus appears on trial before the religious and governmental authorities, who condemn him to death on a cross. Scripture tells us that on the cross Jesus bore the sins of the world. Although he was completely innocent, he took on the curse that should have fallen on covenant breakers. Joseph of Arimathea, a member of the Jewish council and secret disciple of Jesus, has Jesus’ body buried in his family tomb.
