This Little Light of Mine (At Work)Näide

Know what to expect and know that God can use you there.
We must hang on to two reminders as Christians working in secular environments. First, it shouldn't surprise us when the world hates followers of Jesus (John 15:18). Faith in Jesus has always required a certain amount of grit, and a lot of prayer, as we walk into the resistance we should very much expect from our secular workplaces.
Second, God can use you there. (Yes, even there.) A Christian called to be a church pastor and a Christian called to the marketplace have both been called to spread the good news. And, I would argue the Christian in the marketplace has more exposure to the unreached population of their community. I'm not minimizing the role pastors have in spreading the gospel, but we often miss the unique opportunity we have in the secular workplace to interact with people who wouldn't step foot into a church building.
Prayer Prompt: Lord, guide my expectations of the world. Show me how I can be your servant in my workplace. Guide my interactions with others.
