If we’re honest, we’d all probably admit that following Jesus can sometimes be confusing or complicated. We tend to spend a lot of time wondering if we’re doing the right things, living the right way, or making the right choices. We get so caught up in what we think it means to follow Jesus that we miss out on actually following Jesus! That’s when what Paul writes in Romans can help. He reminds us that the key to knowing we’re fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives isn’t checking off a complicated list or doing everything right all the time. Instead, it’s choosing to love others. When we live a life that’s motivated by loving other people, we can be certain that we’re living the way God calls us to live.
