Big Feelings Days: A 5-Day Devotional About Hard Things, Heavy Emotions, and Jesus' Love - for Parents and the Big Feelings Kids They LoveNäide

Day 1: Understanding Our Big Feelings
Talk about It with Your Kids
- When was the last time you had a bad day, a sad day, or a make-you-mad day? What happened that made you feel those big feelings?
- What are some big feelings you’ve experienced recently? What did it feel like in your body?
- Why do you think God made us to experience big feelings? What are some good things about big feelings? What are some hard things about big feelings?
- What do you think God wants us to do with our big feelings? What do you think God does not want us to do?
Practice It
Create your own big feelings chart to help you say what you’re feeling the next time you have a big feelings day. Draw pictures of different feelings and label them. Next time you find yourself having a big feelings day, look at the chart and tell your grown-up what you’re feeling.
