HookedNäide

Our brains are, for lack of any better words, mind-blowing. Think about it, we bet right now you could hop on one foot, clap your hands, and still be able to rattle off your multiplication tables. Your brain can control your foot, and your hands, keep a rhythm, and think about complex math equations all without missing a beat. Researchers even believe that a person can have up to 6,000 different thoughts per day. And if you’re an anxious person…you could probably double that number pretty easily. With so many thoughts running through our heads all day and night, it’s pretty easy to lose focus on the things that we know to be true. The world is constantly trying to distract and tempt us with things that we know won’t last forever.
Instead, God calls us to put our minds toward living the kind of life that we know will bring us closer to Him. What are some good and true things from God that you want to focus more on this week? It may be helpful to write yourself a list, note them somewhere on your phone, or even talk them over with a close friend. As you go through the week, look over your list and try to find spaces in your life where you can put these things into practice.

About this Plan

We all have to deal with temptation at some point in our lives. Why does it have a hold on us and what can we do to break it? We’ll read what God says about temptation to see that while we each have temptations of our own, we never have to go through the struggles alone. Even when we’re faced with tempting thoughts, there is always a way through.
