Travels & Conversions
Paul and Silas allow their travel plans to be diverted by the Holy Spirit, finding themselves instead preaching to a prominent local businesswoman. Because of her faith, she and her family are saved.
Read: Acts 16:6-15(NLT)
Explore the Theme: While the disciples are traveling, the Holy Spirit leads them -- not allowing them to enter Bithynia but guiding Paul to Macedonia through a vision. As Paul is acknowledging God in his ways, God is making his paths straight. What does this teach you about the Holy Spirit?
Ask God: Ask God to lead you to his people. With whom may God be calling you to speak? Lydia was already a worshipper of God, and the Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what Paul was saying so that she could hear more of Jesus and what he had done. Is there someone to whom you need to speak the truth? How would it feel to invite the Holy Spirit to guide you as you process and to trust him to guide you through a possible conversation?
Live it Out: Have an honest conversation with someone this week -- whether it is you looking to receive wisdom from someone or someone looking to gain wisdom and understanding from you. Invite them into a conversation that glorifies and honors God.

About this Plan

(Part three of a four part journey through the Books of Acts.) Even in (and especially in?) hard times, God is present and is working to build His Church. We can find encouragement in this. When circumstances force us to pivot, we don’t have to lose heart - God is with us.
