Believe the Best
Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I, the LORD your God, am with you wherever you go. JOSHUA 1:9 GNT
Do you ever get nervous? Like before a speech at work or a presentation when you were in school? Before a first date or the first day on a new job? Do you ever feel those jittery butterflies in your stomach right before all eyes are on you? Sometimes my knees feel weak, and my heart pounds; my palms get sweaty, and my chest turns splotchy red—it’s a whole big thing.
Several years ago, seconds before I walked onstage to speak, my friend Kristin told me to think about those butterflies as a reminder from the Holy Spirit! I LOVED that so much, and now I think of that every time I’m about to speak to a crowd. Prayer calms my nerves more than anything, and now when I feel those butterflies, they are a sweet reminder that God is cheering me on. I can choose to let my nerves overtake me or empower me, and since I like to keep it positive around here, I bet you can guess which one I pick. I believe the best and let God take care of the rest. Bring on the butterflies; I like knowing I am not alone.
