Trusting God During the StrugglesNäide

Lean not on your own understanding.
Isn’t that the hardest part?
If I’m honest, I have been having some big conversations with God lately. And at the root of it I’m being led by my desire to understand.
Understand why I’m not seeing some promises fulfilled.
Understand why some of my prayers are going unanswered.
Understand why there seems to be struggle tied to my obedience.
But here’s the thing, friend. We will never understand this side of eternity (and maybe not even on the other side.)
God tells us point blank in scripture that his ways are not our ways. That his thoughts are not our thoughts.
He’s bigger. He’s better.
SO when we struggle to understand the WHY - I want to encourage us to look at the WHO.
To look at God.
He is faithful. He is just. He overflows with mercy. He is our provider. He is our strong tower. His character never changes.
So whatever you are facing right now - don’t look to understand why it’s happening but choose to look at the one in whom we put our trust.
Reflection Questions:
- Where have you been questioning God lately?
- How can you release your need to control the outcome and trust God to do it best?
- How can you practically surrender in trust to God this week?
