FTS-5 Day Reset With Nick HallNäide

Determine Priorities and Make a Plan
Have you ever tried growing a friendship without ever spending time together? It’s pretty tough, isn’t it? Imagine you desired to date a girl or boy but never saw them, talked on the phone, or spent any time together. How would you become closer? The fact is, we were not made to begin a relationship with God and never commune with Him. You see, following Jesus is not about following a religion, it is about journeying in a relationship together. And like any relationship, it takes some effort.
Don’t get us wrong, Jesus offers His saving grace to all who would take it, but Jesus also offers a real ongoing relationship, and communion with Him now. You must prioritize time with Him if you hope to grow closer to Him.
The truth is, what you prioritize is revealed in what you make time for. Want to know what you value the most? Take a look at your calendar. See where you spend your money and give your time.
In the busyness of our day-to-day lives, if we don’t make time for something, it likely won’t happen. In the same way that losing weight requires a workout and eating plan, our relationship with Jesus also needs a plan and some intentionality behind it. If you are longing to create new rhythms in your life to grow closer to God, then it’s time to make a plan!
