Preparing for the Power of PentecostNäide

Across Acts, we see that prayer was a hallmark of the early church. Having seen their leader crucified, they would have known their danger context. Having just received their assignment, these followers understood their first step was prayer. Gathering together in the upper room, these leaders lived in constant prayer. The promised Holy Spirit was being earnestly sought after.
The foundation of visionary leadership is no less than prayer. The Apostles understood that prayer is a prerequisite for experiencing the power of Pentecost. As a leader, how are you praying for the vision and mission assigned to you by God?
Action Steps:
Today’s devotional reading was shorter. Take the extra time to devote to prayer. Pray for clarity about the vision assigned to you by God. Be still and listen. Wait for His response. Remember, the Apostles prayed for a week before the Spirit came. Don’t rush it. Pray for the conviction that His calling is greater than anything else.
