Dreams: Understanding God’s Will
Reflect
If you had asked Joseph’s friends and family about his potential, they couldn’t have predicted what his future had in store. But God had big plans for Joseph. He chose to speak to Joseph in the form of dreams. When Joseph started to receive these dreams, he wasn’t quite sure what to make of them. God planted a vision of the future in Joseph’s heart. But this vision wouldn’t be fully realized for decades.
Age, maturity, family dysfunction, and future struggles were all standing between Joseph and his unrealized destiny. God’s first revelation to Joseph wasn’t a step-by-step guide on how to navigate life. Because of that, it would’ve been easy for Joseph to let drama and turmoil overshadow the voice of God. Do you identify with the beginning of Joseph’s story? Are there people, circumstances, or a unique calling spoken over you that you’re not quite sure what to make of?

1. Have you heard anything recently that you think might be a message from God?
2. Who/What makes you doubt God’s voice?
3. Where do you look for truth?
4. What can you do to reduce the noise around you and amplify God’s voice in your life?
