The Last Apostle | John 12: Glory to GodNäide

In the back half of John 12, Jesus predicts his death, prepares his disciples, and shows his heart. It’s the climax of Part 1 in John (Book of Signs, John 1-12) and the swing into Part 2 (Book of Glory, John 13-20).
Jesus knows what his death will accomplish. But that doesn’t mean he wants to do it. Yet he chooses to glorify God no matter the cost. And he’s glorified by God (John 12:27-29).
We, too, can know what our sacrifices for God will accomplish, but that doesn’t we want to do them either. Will we choose to glorify God no matter the cost?

About this Plan

Near the end of his life, John was the last of the living apostles and wrote a story about Jesus. It’s his testimony of who Jesus is, what he said, what he did, and who he claimed to be. Jesus has a story. He invites us to make it our story. When we make Jesus’s story our story, we have life in his name. This plan focuses on Jesus predicting his death in John 12. It is part of an ongoing series through John.
