Even Better: PerseveranceNäide

God has a lot to say about how we navigate hard times, which reminds us that he's there when times get hard for us. Yesterday in James 1, we were reminded to shift our focus from the problem to how God can grow us during the situation. Today we see God telling us not to focus on the issue but to shift our focus to something different - Him. Let's be clear - there is nothing you can experience in this life that is bigger than God. He controls it all. So when you feel the weight of the problems and trials in your life weighing you down, and you're not sure you can keep going - look to God. Be reminded that you're not alone, that he loves you, and that it's part of his plan even if you can't see through it. The hope that we put in God will not lead to disappointment. So lean on God; he can take it.
Challenge: Take a moment today to reflect on how great God is. Write a letter, draw a picture, or sing a song that reminds you of his goodness. God is bigger than any problem, and he is with us!

About this Plan

We all have times when life just stinks. There will even be times when following Jesus isn't easy. Hebrews 10:36 says: "Patient endurance is what you need now to continue to do God's will." If you want to follow Jesus, it's going to take endurance. It's going to take perseverance. Over the next five days, we'll break down what this means and how we can grow in perseverance.
