Royals Part III: Into ExileNäide

The Grace of Trials
If our lives were perfect, we would never realise that we need God. Even in this messed up world we find it so hard to make time to spend with God. Manasseh was so caught up in his world that something drastic needed to happen for him to wake up to how much he truly needed God. It’s amazing what a hook through the nose can do.
Just to be clear, we’re not suggesting that trials and tribulations are always sent to us for this reason. However, many people can tell you that it was only when God allowed them to hit rock bottom that they finally turned to Him. For some of us it’s only when we have no other options that we cry out to God.
When we truly accept Jesus into our hearts we discover that the challenges we’ve been through are nothing in comparison to the love, joy and peace we find in relationship with God. If God had allowed us to remain in “comfort” we would never have experienced this greater blessing.
Thought Point
Has your life been filled more with comfort or challenges? How has this affected your relationship with God?
Prayer Point
Thank God for every part of your life- blessings, challenges and trials. Ask Him to help you draw near to Him through every season.
