Miraculous! Seven Signs That Show Who Jesus IsNäide

Jesus raised people from the dead
“They laughed at Him [Jesus], knowing that she [Jairus’ daughter] was dead. But taking her by the hand He called, saying, ‘Child, arise.’ And her spirit returned, and she got up at once.” (Luke 8:53-55)
The news that Jesus healed many sick people had spread throughout the country of Israel. Therefore, when Jairus’ daughter got severely ill, this man went to Jesus and asked Him for help. Jesus went with him, but it took so long before they reached Jairus’ house that a messenger met them on their way, telling them that the little girl had died. He advised Jairus, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the Teacher anymore.” It seemed clear that even Jesus could not help anymore. In John 11, we find a similar story where Lazarus had died and his sister complained to Jesus: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
But even death does not have the final word against Jesus. He told the little girl to rise and He told Lazarus to come out of his tomb — and they did.
These miracles were astonishing. They are also foreshadowing what will happen on a far larger scale when Jesus returns to judge humanity. Then the dead will be raised imperishable (1 Corinthians 15:52). Whoever has put his faith in Jesus in this life, will live with Him forever.
Will you be there as well?
About this Plan

During His earthly ministry, Jesus Christ performed many signs. The Bible writers recorded many of these for us, “so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). This reading plan contains a selection of Jesus’ miracles, that show you who He is!
