Gifted to ServeNäide

Paul now writes one of the most personal and compelling passages in Scripture. The Apostle understood, better than most, the great need everyone has to be reconciled to God through Christ. Paul’s past as the angry, murderous Saul of Tarsus followed him everywhere he went. Many Jewish Christians had been forced to flee Jerusalem after the death of Stephen because of Paul and others like him. It was not difficult to slander Paul and his ministry with facts from his past. Today’s passage reveals Paul’s heart about those memories and his message to everyone about the need to be forgiven and reconciled to God through Christ.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” (Colossians 3:23–24).
