Year of the Bible: Part Six of Twelve Näide

Life in the Spirit
Ezra 1:1 says that the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus, king of Persia. Then verse 5 says that God stirred up the spirit of a remnant of Israelites to go up to Jerusalem and build His house. We want to be people who allow the Spirit of God to give direction and stir up our hearts to His desires!
Here are four tips the Bible gives us to live in the Spirit:
We need to set our mind on the Spirit (Rom. 8:6).
The mind of the flesh is death.
The mind of the Spirit is life and peace.
We need to exercise our Spirit daily (Jude 19-21).
Building yourselves up in the faith,
praying in the Spirit,
keeping yourselves in the love of God,
and waiting for the mercy that leads to eternal life.
We need to fan into flame the gift of God (2 Tim. 1:6-7).
Stir the gift of God.
You have not received a spirit of fear.
You have received a Spirit of power, love, and self-control.
We need to receive the Spirit of Adoption (Rom. 8:14-17).
You didn't receive a spirit of slavery to fall back to fear.
The Spirit gives witness that we are called children of God.
You area co-heir with Christ!
Question: Are you allowing God to stir up your spirit?
Prayer: Ask God to help you live life in the Spirit!
