Looking After One AnotherNäide

Pray and Lead Them to God
I took a quick look at my phone before the church service began. My Iraqi language buddy texted: ‘Would you please pray for me this morning?’ I fell silent. She is a devout Muslim and is well aware that my God, not Allah, is the father of Jesus. Yet she asked me to pray for her, pleading with my God for help because she was in desperate need of comfort.
It reminded me of the story from Mark 2, where four friends lowered a paralyzed man through the roof to bring him to Jesus. When you are weak, you need friends to lead you to Jesus. Whom am I such a friend to? Whom should I bring to Jesus?
I heard a beautiful application of this Bible story for children. After the narration, a square was marked off with tape to represent the roof hole. Then the children were allowed to close their eyes and think of someone they could lead to Jesus. Then they wrote that name on a piece of paper and placed it in the square. They prayed for every person listed on the pieces of paper after that.
Who moves your heart? Who doesn’t know Jesus yet and needs Jesus so much?
I ask you simply: close your eyes and invite the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts. Pray for the person whose name comes to mind. The power of prayer is incredible! Expect great things from a great God!
