Like with David, we learn of Elijah’s successes and failures. The Bible isn’t a book about heroes; it’s a book about flawed people that God used to do amazing things. God responded to Elijah’s fear with a clear message, but also with patience.

We are all mixtures of success and failure, and our failures can come at times when things are going well. It’s good that God is patient with us, but hopefully we are making some progress toward more faith in God.
