Jonah 4 Following Jesus When You’d Rather Run AwayNäide

Eyes off the Plant and onto the People
Have you ever been so fixated on and concerned about the wrong thing?
Jonah does this. We often do this, too. Jonah begins to pity a plant when God is only concerned about the people.
Jonah focuses on his current situation while God cares deeply about an entire city of lost souls and their salvation.
When we are consumed by what is temporary, we will miss out on what’s eternal.
Don’t miss the right thing by staring at the wrong thing.
Don’t miss out on the goodness of what God is in the midst of while obsessing over what, in the end, simply does not matter.
- What do you need to get your eyes off of today?
- Where are you spending too much of your time on the wrong thing?
- What temporary things are getting in the way of you living with an eternal perspective?
