Strong Start - a Devotion on StrengthNäide

Strength to Endure
Long distance runners need stamina to endure. They are not looking for the quick and immediate satisfaction of winning 400 meters in a 3200-meter race. They know that to truly gain victory, they need the stamina and strength to endure.
Grief often serves as an opportunity to drain our endurance. Grieving moments, life transitions, failures, etc. serve as opportunities to deplete us of the power to keep going. Today, find strength and courage in knowing that your joy is rooted in God being your strength. He enables you to leap over difficult moments and provides joy for every part of your journey.
What is going to change your life is the endurance to continue. Where that strength comes from is the Lord alone. He provides you with new strength every day to continue on your path of purpose. Stand firm in knowing that God’s strength working for you will not allow you to quit prematurely. You have everything you need to endure.
Father, thank You for new endurance. My capacity and ability to handle more than what I thought is expanding. I will not be overwhelmed; I have the strength to endure hard seasons and moments because of God at work in me.
