Read, Ask, Go! Interactive Advent Devotional for the Whole FamilyNäide

In The Beginning
READ: Genesis 3
God had prepared a perfect place for His creation. God loved His creation so much that He made sure their every need was met. And he only asked one thing, that they not eat fruit from one tree. The boundary was established and Adam and Eve crossed it and suffered serious consequences. Have you ever wondered why you might need a Savior? Genesis 3 launches us into the great reveal, the answer to our questions, and the reason the Advent had to come. God’s people needed forgiveness and to restore their relationship with God the Father, just like it was in the garden. It’s important for us to look back and see why we need a Savior, especially as we celebrate Christmas this year!
ASK:
Even in the midst of disappointment and sorrow, notice v. 21 in Genesis 3. What do you see? What does this tell you about God?
GO:
CLEAN THE SLATE
Forgiveness is at the center of Advent. Jesus came so we could have a relationship with His Father. Today, examine your own heart and ask God to forgive you of your sins. Is there anyone in your life whom you have not forgiven? Are you holding any grudges? Forgiveness wipes the slate clean.

About this Plan

As we anticipate the birth and celebration of Jesus Christ, let’s help our families slow down and take time to really think about our Savior’s coming. This devotional experience is meant to do just that! Give you and your family dedicated time each day to READ (the scripture), ASK (some questions) and GO (serve our family, neighbors, and world).
