Embrace the Race: Persevering Through Challenging TimesNäide

Taking a Stand
Mordecai, the hero of chapter two for uncovering a conspiracy against the King, suddenly becomes the object of Haman's wrath. Haman, full of pride and arrogance, required everyone at the King's gate to kneel and pay honor to him. However, Mordecai refused to bow down. Most scholars believe this was not out of disrespect of Haman but out of honor for the Lord. Mordecai chose not to bow down before any man despite the consequences.
Upon hearing Mordecai would not bow down to him, Haman determines to find a way to kill Mordecai and eradicate all the Jewish people in the land. Making the right choices in life doesn't guarantee all people will like you. We see Mordecai choosing to stand up for his beliefs, despite the personal cost.
Daily Challenge
As we continue to read through the book of Esther, we will see God was already preparing a way of escape for Mordecai and his people. No matter what you are facing, remember God is with you. As you honor him with your life choices, commit your circumstances to him, trusting he will provide a way forward for you.
