Real Hope: Finding Hope in IsaiahNäide

Wings On The Wind
Recently I had a few things on my mind, and the more I thought about the issues, the less I felt at peace. So, I went for a walk around our coastland. Stopping to sit and take everything in, with the wind howling and the waves crashing, I lifted my eyes to the sky and, as I did, I saw a bird above my head, hovering perfectly still as it soared through the strong wind. The storm wasn’t an issue. By facing that wind, the bird was not only kept up by its force, but the wind was allowing the bird to rest.
This experience was a powerful reminder that at some point in life, we inevitably encounter resistance. But for the bird, the resistance wasn’t holding him back; it was holding him up. The bird received strength from a position of rest. David pens these words about God... ‘You make the clouds your chariot; you ride upon the wings of the wind’ (Psalm 104:3b NLT).
God is good to those who wait for Him, seek Him, trust Him, and love Him. He has promised that His grace is sufficient for us, and no matter how weary we become, His power is made perfect in our weakness. He enables us to soar, carrying us upon the wings of the wind. That day, I continued on my walk anchored in hope with renewed strength, peace in my soul, and knowing that God was in control.
