Come Sit Down

Our road manager / road pastor prayed before an event, “Lord we know that you don’t leave one place to go to another, because you’re everywhere, but if you come sit down here in this place tonight, if your presence becomes so real in this place tonight, nobody’s going to be the same.” More than anything as Big Daddy Weave, we want to not just know things about God; we want to know God Himself. We’re created for encounter with God. Scripture says if we draw near to Him, He’ll draw near to us.

There are nights we’ve been on the road and something just happens in the room. You become aware that this is the presence of God. There is something special going on. Stuff we were worried about all of a sudden becomes nothing anymore. The thing that was consuming our attention, the things we were fixed on in our hearts before that, are all gone now. The things of earth grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.
