The Final Journey

DÍA 4 DE 17

# Playing the Crowd Paul pulls rank on the Roman officers, avoiding a whipping and instead getting an audience with the Jewish high council. Reading the crowd, he exposes their own divisiveness, promoting the Roman officers to pull him to safety. God then shows up with travel plans for Paul. Read: Acts 22:24-23:11(NLT) Explore the Theme: The fullness of Paul’s character is on display as he demonstrates obedience as a servant of God as well as the wisdom, discernment, boldness and persistence that come through a life lived in good conscience and unwavering faith. What most stands out to you about Paul in his interactions with the officers and high council? Paul strategically navigates a tense and near-violent predicament, then the Lord appears at his side to infuse him with courage. What does that tell you about Paul’s state of mind? What does that reveal about Paul’s relationship with God? How do you think Paul felt after spending time with the Lord? Ask God: While Paul had a knack for getting himself out of troubling situations, we see the Lord beside him and going before him. How does that encourage you in God’s nearness to you? How does it challenge you in your nearness to God? Ask God to reveal any areas where you are depending on your own strength, control or plans more than you are trusting his. You might even ask God to remind you of his past faithfulness so that you have the courage to trust him with your future. Live it Out: Take some time to reflect on what God has most impressed on your heart from today’s reading. Is there an aspect of your character you would like to change or grow? Were you challenged in your personal relationship with God? Could you benefit from some time with the Lord? Pray and invite God to stand at your side and reveal what you need to do next, then trust that he will show up.
