Transitions: Reflecting on John 14:1-21Muestra

Empathy
As you read John 14:1-21, note the ways in which Jesus acknowledges how his disciples are feeling. He brings their pain into sharper focus by describing their anticipation of separation from him as being orphaned (John 14:18). When have you benefited from someone describing your distress with a vivid image?

Acerca de este Plan

On the night before his death, when Jesus could have been preoccupied with himself, he takes time to shepherd his friends through the difficult transition of him no longer being together with them physically. He masterfully employs empathy, vision, and assurances to strengthen the disciples' faith. We can learn from him as we seek to care for others in times of uncertainty or difficulty and during our own transitions.
