Jesus Only: Part OneMuestra

Week 5 - Counterfeits
This Week’s Devotional Written by Randy Ness
This Week’s Scripture Focus is Colossians 2:4-23
Day 1 - Sunday - Rest Day
Enjoy Your Sabbath Rest
In his book, Letters to Malcolm, C.S. Lewis writes that “I have tried... to make every pleasure into a channel of adoration.”
"Pleasures" for Lewis mean things as diverse as a beautiful mountain valley, delicious food, a great book, or a piece of music. He points out that while we should give thanks for every pleasure, it can be something more. They can be “shafts of light” that illuminate God’s glory. We can use them to move beyond simply thanking God for his goodness to entering into adoration of Him.
Lewis has learned to instinctively think, “What kind of God would create this, give me this?”
During your Sabbath (whether it’s Sunday or another day), make sure you spend time doing something you delight in, something that brings you pleasure. And use it as a conduit for adoring our great and wonderful God.
And to hear a sermon relating to this week’s passage, tune into Daybreak Church’s 7/19/20 message, Counterfeits.

Acerca de este Plan

With many options to turn to for peace, security, and fulfillment, is Jesus enough? Many have developed a "Jesus And" approach to life based on comfort, success, income, or image. If we're honest, is "Jesus Only" our source for a fulfilling and purposeful life? Journey through the book of Colossians to help you answer these questions. This plan runs Sunday through Saturday for five weeks.
