DÍA 2 DE 12

Roles And Responsibilities Every organization has defined roles, responsibilities and consequences. In today's passage, we see various roles and  responsibilities and their implications for the Israelite camp and ultimately the land of Israel. As human beings, we dislike any rule. By nature, we want to push the law to the limit or have the thrill of breaking it and evading the consequences. Every human being has various roles in their lifetime, and they depend on the organization they are a part of. In the organization of a family, we move from being a child to a spouse, a parent to a grandparent. In the organization of a school, we have the Headteacher/Principal, teachers, non-teaching staff and of course the students. Changing our focus to a corporate organizations, there are the board of Directors, President, Vice Presidents, Managers, Consultants, associates. The department they are part of defines their role. Even the church has an organization of Pastors, Deacons, Elders, Volunteers and the Congregation. Every human being wears multiple hats, depending on the number of organizations they are a part of. A six-year-old is a child at home, a student at school and part of Sunday school or congregation at church. A homemaker would wear the hats of a wife, mom at home, a volunteer at church, or President at the local charity. A president of a company would be a husband and father at home, a deacon at the church, board member for the local charity etc. As we adorn multiple roles there are some we may enjoy, while others we wish we did not have to do. Not every task is glamorous. We wish we had the exciting parts. Many a time we want to do the roles our friend has. Pause and reflect on the roles you are called to do. List the responsibilities that are associated with the character. Evaluate yourself, seeing where you are excellent, and where you can improve. The vital principle is not to be harsh on yourself but in asking God to give a neutral, practical view. This exercise is for us to understand and improve ourselves and not judge others. Thought for the day: Ask God to help you in those areas where you need to improve. Lord, help me to be purposeful and excellent in all I do, even as I display integrity in my character .
