Our tendency is to focus on our challenges and to doubt God's goodness and power. It's difficult for us to remember the promises He's kept and the mercy He's shown. David had no shortage of praise for God. Even though his life was full of challenges and heartache David recognized and celebrated the goodness God had shown him.
