Grace is the means through which salvation is experienced.


Faith is the method by which that grace is appropriated.


This grace is a gift from God to humankind.


Grace is not something that is earned — it is a gift.


No one has a right to boast in their own goodness when it comes to salvation — God is the Author and grace is the means in saving us from sin.


God’s design in salvation is to restore us to original righteousness — to make us back into the people we were originally created to be.


All of this comes from God and God alone.

So what do we learn in these verses about faith? What is Paul trying to teaching the church as we consider this gift and all that it brings to us?

To abide in Him means to live in relationship with Him, to practice the spiritual disciplines - Bible reading, prayer and meditation, worship, stewardship, witnessing, and living a holy life. To abide means to remain in Christ.

The necessity of abiding faith — it makes living the life of salvation truly possible.
