For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

The moment we turn from Jesus, we run toward death. Distraction, detours, and decay are suddenly everywhere. Our enemy does not care about the condition of our souls; he only wants control. But the moment we turn back to the tender and truthful voice of Jesus, life begins again.

Only God can see everything ahead of us and only He knows everything in us. Therefore, only He decides what in this world is best for everything within us and guides us to it. Our job is to focus on the few feet in front of us and trust the Shepherd with each step of the long trail. 

Father, we want to place our complete trust in you, the Entrusted, the Good Shepherd. We depend on your Word to remind us who we are and Whose we are. We depend on your Spirit to draw us in and to keep us exactly where you want us. We depend on the perfect example of your Son to feed us and lead us. Help us listen for and follow only You.
