The Tithe and the Offering

ڕۆژی3 لە 3

Protection and Fruitfulness

“I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the LORD Almighty. "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the LORD Almighty.
(Malachi 3:11-12, NIV)

What a beautiful promise.

When we walk in obedience, God Himself steps in – not only to bless what we have, but to protect it.

He doesn’t just pour out blessings; He guards them.
He doesn’t just make us fruitful; He ensures that the fruit lasts.

And notice how He introduces Himself in these verses – not once, but twice – as “the LORD Almighty.”
In Hebrew, that name is YHWH Sabaoth, the Lord of Hosts, the Commander of Heaven’s armies.

Just imagine that for a moment:
The same God who commands angelic forces, who rules over heaven and earth, who speaks and galaxies respond – that God promises to defend what belongs to you.

No pest can touch it.
No storm can destroy it.
No enemy can steal it.

When we honour God with the tithe and the offering, we are not just inviting His blessing – we are placing what we have under His divine protection.

The God Who Guards Your Harvest

In ancient times, a farmer’s livelihood depended on his crops and vines. A single plague could mean total loss.
Today, our “fields” might look like our jobs, our businesses, our investments, or even the dreams we’re nurturing.

And just as He promised Israel, God promises us: “I will protect what’s yours, and I will make it fruitful.”

That’s not superstition or religious talk – it’s the covenant heart of a faithful Father.
When we bring our tithes, we’re not losing something; we’re activating something.
We’re inviting God to move on our behalf – to sustain, secure, and multiply what He’s entrusted to us.

A Moment to Reflect

As you reach the end of these three days, take a moment to sit quietly with the Lord and ask yourself:

  • Am I faithfully tithing? Why or why not?
  • Do I believe that God truly honours His Word when I obey Him?
  • Can I see evidence of His protection and fruitfulness in my life?
  • Do I trust my church leaders to steward the resources that belong to God?
  • What step is God asking me to take next in this area of obedience and trust?

These aren’t questions of guilt – they’re invitations to growth.
Because when God calls us to give, He’s not trying to take something from us; He’s trying to release something to us and through us.

Friend, God’s plan for His Church – and for you – is beautiful.
It’s a plan full of blessings, purpose, and partnership.
And He is so worthy of our trust, our obedience, and our all.

Prayer

Father God,
I thank You that You are not only my Provider but my Protector. You guard the work of my hands and make my life fruitful. If there are any areas where I’ve hesitated to obey You especially in tithing and giving please search my heart and root out fear or unbelief.

Teach me to trust You completely, withholding nothing.
Cover my home, my work, my finances, and my heart under the shield of Your divine protection. May every part of my life reflect Your generosity and goodness.

I love You, Lord.
Thank You for Your commands, Your promises, and Your unending faithfulness.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
