Know How Things Work (Mastery)

The labour of a fool makes him so weary that he does not even know how to go into the city. This signifies someone labouring hard, but without knowledge or structure. The unwise person lacks structures for the next phase of their life and ends up in desperation. We must be intentional about studying and understanding how systems work.

If you are in business, you must read business books; if you are in sales, you must understand the psychology of why people buy. Lack of wisdom will not allow a person's life to turn around, even if they pray and fast, because there is a competition between spirituality and ignorance. You cannot pray your way out of ignorance.

We need to know how money works, how budgeting works, and how to structure our earnings. Many people spend the business capital immediately and cannot account for where the money went.

You must put yourself on a salary when in business. We must study goal setting, parenting, or leadership if we struggle in those areas, and refuse to remain with the same capacity we had years ago. Understanding systems allows us to create real progress and stability.

Select one area of life you struggle with (e.g., finances, leadership, sales) and commit to buying and thoroughly studying one high-quality, non-fiction book on that subject this year.
