Jesus’ deity is shown through His works: He forgives sins. The religious leaders were right about one thing—only God can forgive sins. When Jesus forgave the paralytic man, He proved His authority and identity. He didn’t just heal bodies; He restored souls. Every word of forgiveness was an unmistakable claim to His deity. Again, we see that the Pharisees and religious leaders would be infuriated by the fact that He claimed to forgive sin, something only God can do.

If anyone else had claimed to forgive sins, he would have been a liar. But Jesus truly is the only One Who can forgive sins. Praise the Lord for His ability and willingness to forgive us for our sins!
