Have you heard the following phrase: "Garbage in, garbage out"? We must be cautious about our intake, because what we listen to profoundly influences us. Constantly consuming gossip, bad news, cursing, and negative influences will eventually shape our lives for the worse. What we allow into our ears affects our hearts and minds. Is this why God reminds us in Romans that "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"? We all need faith, yet sadly, we often do not nurture our faith. Instead, we often continue filling our minds with the sounds and worries of this world.

In contrast to the noisy world, Christians should listen to sound, God-honoring, Christ-centered preaching. Gathering with other believers to study the Bible provides opportunities to strengthen your spirit and draw you closer to Jesus and His Word.
