Prioritizing Your Emotionsنموونە

God Feels Too
One of the most profound truths in Scripture is that God, though Spirit, expresses emotions. He is merciful, compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in love. These are not abstract traits—they are emotional realities. Psalm 103:8 paints a picture of a God who feels deeply. This challenges the notion that emotions are unspiritual or weak.
Jesus, the Son of God, wept at Lazarus’ tomb. He rejoiced when His disciples returned with good news. He was grieved by unbelief and angered by injustice. These emotional expressions were not signs of instability—they were signs of His humanity and divinity in perfect harmony. The Holy Spirit, too, can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30). This means our emotional choices affect heaven.
If God feels, then emotions are sacred. They are not to be suppressed or ignored but stewarded. Emotional maturity is not about being emotionless—it’s about expressing emotions in ways that reflect God’s character. When we deny our emotions, we deny a part of the image of God within us. When we embrace them with wisdom, we honour Him.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for showing me that emotions are part of Your nature. Help me to reflect Your heart in how I feel and express myself. Teach me to be compassionate like You, slow to anger like You, and joyful like You. Let my emotions be a mirror of Your grace.
