Day 8: The Appointment & Requirements of Leadership
Reflection:
When the early church faced challenges in distributing food, the apostles appointed leaders to oversee the task. They set clear requirements: leaders had to be full of the Spirit, wise, and of good reputation. Leadership was never about position but about character and calling.
This passage reminds us that leadership is both an appointment and a responsibility. Leaders are entrusted with tasks because they are faithful and Spirit-led. The requirements of leadership are not negotiable—they are what sustain influence and protect the integrity of God’s work.
5 Reflection Questions:
- Why did the apostles need to appoint leaders in this situation?
- What qualities were required of these leaders?
- Why does character matter more than skill in leadership?
- How do Spirit-filled leaders impact the church and community?
- Where might God be asking you to step up into leadership?
Application Question:
👉 What area of your life needs strengthening so that you can meet God’s requirements for leadership?
Prayer Prompt:
“Lord, shape my character and fill me with Your Spirit. Help me lead with wisdom and integrity.”
