Awestruck: 30 Days of Wonder in the Bible

ڕۆژی25 لە 30

Fifty days after the resurrection, God kept His promise. The Spirit filled the disciples. Wind roared. Fire blazed. Voices rose in languages they had never learned.

The world shifted in that moment, and history has never been the same.

But first, let’s rewind to the Tower of Babel. Another time God displayed His wisdom and power through human speech. In pride, people tried to build their way to heaven, so God scattered them by confusing their language. Their pride-fueled partnership ended up separating them.

At Pentecost, the Spirit did something breathtaking.

God gathered people from many nations and supernaturally enabled them to understand one another through a miracle of language. Pentecost didn’t erase Babel, but answered it with a greater miracle—God’s presence bringing scattered people together in one family. Once divided, now united, in and because of Christ.

Can you imagine what that room felt like? One minute, they were waiting and praying. Then next, they were speaking languages they'd never studied, proclaiming God's wonders to people from other nations. What started as a small gathering launched the global church.

The same Spirit who hovered over creation and spoke through prophets now lives in God's people.

Not as a distant force, but as God Himself dwelling within us.

Jesus had promised not to leave us as orphans. Pentecost fulfilled that promise, and it didn't stop there. Every time you open your Bible, the Spirit who inspired it can also open your heart to understand. You don’t have to read alone.

Reflect:

How might asking the Spirit to reveal His Truth change your Bible reading?

Tomorrow we'll discover a comforting name for God—written by someone who knew deep pain.
