You are seated at Christ's table.

People often say, “Serving Christ puts a target on your back.” Scripture verifies that we have a relentless enemy determined to destroy us and our confidence as God’s children. But as I stated previously, he’s a conquered foe. We belong to and are cared for by our victorious Savior.

After defeating the devil and securing our salvation, Jesus ascended to heaven, where He sits at the Father’s right hand. This symbolized that, unlike Jewish priests whose never-ending tasks necessitated standing, Christ’s work was done. He fulfilled the Father’s plan. But notice, Scripture says that we’re seated, at this moment, with Him (Ephesians 2:6). Picture a formal banquet with linen-covered tables and name placards at each setting. You’re not seated in the far back. Nope. Jesus has seated you at the cool table, with Him. Adding to this the fact that people in the first century usually sat guests according to their social status, you can probably understand the depth of welcome conveyed through this truth.

But there’s more. Sitting beside the One who is “far above all rule and authority, power and dominion” (Ephesians 1:20, AMP) indicates that we also are far above dark forces.Therefore, we have no cause for fear.
